1. Who we are

Devsign8 is a creative agency based in Markham, Ontario, Canada. We offer branding, web design, social media creative, SEO and digital marketing. In this policy, "Devsign8", "we", "us" and "our" mean Devsign8, and "you" means anyone who visits devsign8.com or contacts us.

This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, who helps us process it, and the choices you have. It is written to follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). Questions go to our privacy contact, the founder of Devsign8, at [email protected].

2. Information you give us

Free website audit form. Your website address (or that you don't have one yet), what you want to improve, your business name and industry, your name and your email address.

Booking a discovery call. When you book through our Cal.com booking page, you give your name and email address, your business name, your website, the services you're interested in, any notes you add, and a phone number if you choose a phone call.

Email. Anything you send us when you email us directly.

3. Information collected automatically

Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to understand how people use the site. It records things like the pages you view, how you arrived (for example a search engine or another website), your approximate location, your device and browser type, and actions such as clicking a booking link or submitting the audit form. It uses cookies, such as _ga, to recognize repeat visits. Google also receives your IP address, which it uses to estimate your approximate location. Google explains how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

Security and performance. Our site runs through Cloudflare, which processes your IP address and may set a short-lived security cookie (such as __cf_bm) to protect the site from abuse and deliver it quickly.

Server logs. Our web host records standard technical details of each request, such as IP address, browser, the page requested and the time.

Your theme choice. If you switch between light and dark mode, your browser stores that preference on your own device. It is not sent to us.

4. How we use your information

  • To prepare and send the free website audit you asked for.
  • To schedule and hold discovery calls.
  • To reply to your messages, prepare quotes and deliver the work you hire us for.
  • To understand how the site is used and improve it.
  • To keep the site secure.

We only send you marketing emails if you have agreed to receive them, and every such email lets you opt out. We do not sell or rent your personal information.

5. Consent

By submitting a form, booking a call or emailing us, you consent to us using the information you give for the purposes described above. You can withdraw your consent at any time by emailing us, subject to legal or contractual limits. Withdrawing consent may mean we can no longer provide a particular service, such as the audit.

6. Cookies and your choices

The site does not use advertising cookies of its own. Analytics cookies load when you visit, as described in section 3. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or use Google's Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Blocking cookies does not stop the site from working.

7. Who helps us process your information

We use trusted service providers who handle personal information on our behalf, under their own privacy terms:

  • Formspree: receives free audit form submissions and forwards them to us.
  • Cal.com: runs our booking page and sends booking confirmations and reminders.
  • Google: Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and our Gmail email account.
  • Cloudflare: security and content delivery.
  • Bluehost: web hosting.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights, property or safety, or those of others.

8. Where your information is stored

Several of these providers store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States. While it is there, it is subject to the laws of that country, and government authorities there may be able to access it.

9. How long we keep it

We keep audit requests, enquiries and booking details for up to 24 months after our last contact with you. If you become a client, we keep project and billing records for as long as tax and business laws require. Google Analytics keeps detailed visit data for no longer than 14 months, after which only combined reports that do not identify you remain. Once a retention period ends, we delete or anonymize the information.

10. Security

The site is served only over secure HTTPS connections, and we limit who can access your information. No method of sending or storing information online is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach involving your personal information creates a real risk of significant harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, as the law requires.

11. Your rights

You can ask us to show you the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it where we are not required to keep it. Email [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days. We may ask you to confirm your identity before sharing or changing any information.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

12. Children

Our site and services are meant for businesses. They are not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

13. Links to other websites

Our site links to other websites, such as our social media profiles and the booking page. Their own privacy policies apply when you visit them.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our services or tools change. The effective date at the top of this page shows when it last changed.
